What is Project Loon by Google?

Google is working with the Indian government on some sort of pilot project for providing Internet connectivity by using large balloons. For the  transmission of Internet services, this big balloons floating at a height of 20 kilometers above earth surface. It has already tested this technology in another countries e.g New Zealand.

It is drone based internet transmission and these devices are powered with the solar and wind energy.

Important things about this project:

  • Each balloon can provide connectivity to a ground area about 40 km in diameter using a wireless communications technology called LTE or 4G.
  • It will work with LTE enabled device with the help of telecommunication companies in India by sharing their cellular spectrum.

Indian prime minister Narendra Modi speech at SAP Centre in San Jose.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 28th September 2015 addressed over 18,000 Indian Americans at the SAP Centre in San Jose during his visit to America. During his speech he made few points and quotes:

* It is asked all around, who does 21st century belong to? Everyone agrees its Asia's. For the first time, people are saying that 21st century is India's century; the world has started believing in this today. Who brought this change? This change was not brought by 'Modi Modi', but 125 crore Indians.

* Nothing's hidden today. A news breaks and you get it on your phone immediately. You know what Modi has done, what he has said, what he is saying. I had said I won't compromise on hard work. 16 months later, today, I need your certificate. Am I working? Am I working for nation? Am I fulfilling promises?

* The son made Rs 250 crore, daughter made Rs 500 crore, son-in-law made Rs 1,000 crore... are you not tired of listening to such stuff? Today I stand in front of you, do I have any allegations of corruption against me?

* People ask me where do I get my confidence from? How I am so sure that my nation will progress? I am confident that it will, as my nation is young. 65% of our population is under the age of 35.

* Be it the World Bank, Moody's or any other research agency, everyone is saying India is the fastest growing economy of the World.

* India is only nation which succeeded in its 'Mars orbiter mission' in just one attempt; look at the commitment & capability of our nation.

* The way technology has given a new strength and direction to the entire World, we have also initiated 'Digital India' acknowledging that.

* We are moving ahead with 'JAM of all'; 'J' stands for Jandhan account, 'A' stands for 'Aadhaar card' & 'M' stands for 'Mobile governance'.

* Once I requested people of the nation to give up their LPG subsidy for the poor. I feel proud in saying that 30 lakh people have surrendered their subsidy.

* There are two major challenges before the World today -- terrorism and global warming. The United Nations still has not been able to define terrorism. If it will take so much time to define terrorism, how will we tackle it? You cannot protect humanity with 'good terrorism' or 'bad terrorism'... Terrorism is terrorism, that's it! The UN has a responsibility. It must have a clear roadmap on who it sees as terrorist and who stands with humanity.

Q: what is the slogan for digital India given by india president Narendra Modi??
A: 'JAM of all'; 'J' stands for Jandhan account, 'A' stands for 'Aadhaar card' & 'M' stands for 'Mobile governance'.

Q: What is programme name for advancing through technology  initiated by Indian government???
A: 'Digital India'

Easy ways to Prevent Mosquitoes in common Area

  • The most effective way to reduce the number of mosquitoes around homes and neighborhoods is to find and eliminate their breeding sites.
  • Change water in bird baths and wading pools at least once a week and keep swimming pools cleaned and chlorinated. Ornamental pools can be aerated or stocked with mosquito-eating fish. Aeration / water movement helps because mosquitoes prefer quiet, non-flowing water for egg-laying and development.
  • Use citronella scented candles and Tikki torches with citronella. In order for citronella candles to be effective, place a mass of them surrounding the area where people gather.
  • Eliminate standing water by unclogging roof gutters, emptying children’s wading pools and swimming pools at least once a weeks, getting rid of old tires in the lawn, emptying used containers in the yard, turning any unused containers upside down so they can’t collect water.
  • Attract birds and mammals that feed on mosquitoes to the lawn. Blue Martins and bats feast on mosquitoes and can keep them at bay.
  • Make sure windows, doors, and porches are tightly screened and are free of holes.
  • Repair any leaks and/or eliminate puddles that may have formed around faucets and window air conditioner units.
  • Under construction properties and debris in common areas are mosquito-breeding grounds. Ensure the builders or workers carry out precautionary measures includes fogging and elimination of water accumulation which has resulted in larva formation.
  • Clogged rain gutters are one of the most overlooked breeding sites for mosquitoes around homes. Remove any standing water on flat roofs or around structures. Repair leaking faucets and air conditioners that produce puddles for several days.
  • Take some time to do a walk around your apartment common areas looking for locations where water can sit. When you find them, dump them out and reposition them so they can’t hold water.
