Google is working with the Indian government on some sort of pilot project for providing Internet connectivity by using large balloons. For the transmission of Internet services, this big balloons floating at a height of 20 kilometers above earth surface. It has already tested this technology in another countries e.g New Zealand.
It is drone based internet transmission and these devices are powered with the solar and wind energy.
Important things about this project:
- Each balloon can provide connectivity to a ground area about 40 km in diameter using a wireless communications technology called LTE or 4G.
- It will work with LTE enabled device with the help of telecommunication companies in India by sharing their cellular spectrum.
